Active Data Harvesting
At Southern Node Research, we minimize data ingestion to the strictly necessary parameters required for node research and system analysis. We differentiate between technical metadata—which is anonymized for performance benchmarks—and specific personal identifiers.
Utilization & Deployment
Data is never commoditized. Our node research necessitates high-fidelity information, but we never use personal data for marketing automation or third-party profiling. Usage is limited to:
- Technical Maintenance The ongoing calibration of our distributed data systems to ensure uptime and security for our Australian and international partners.
- Research Integrity Verifying the origin of technical submissions to maintain the peer-reviewed standard of the Southern Node portal.
- Direct Response Addressing inquiries regarding our systems and specialized node analysis.
Retention Protocol
Southern Node Research retains data only for as long as active research projects require or as mandated by Australian federal law. Once the operational necessity for data terminates, it is purged through a multi-pass overwrite process.
Standard Inquiries
Retained for 12 months post-resolution unless ongoing collaboration is established.
System Logs
Anonymized after 30 days and permanently deleted after 90 days for forensic security purposes.
Governance & Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), users interact with our systems with specific protected rights. You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold, request corrections to inaccurate records, or seek the deletion of your data from our active systems.
To exercise these rights, please submit a formal request through our Connect portal. We process all verification requests within 10 business days.
